Our Grandfather purchased the property in 1927 when there were no cabins, lakes, or orchards adorning the space. Through the years he built the cabins, lakes, and planted the orchards to give the land the feel it has now. In 1998 the land passed to John J and Greg, who started Deerfields Retreat in order to preserve the land in its natural state. We take great pride in the nature and wonder the land is naturally blessed with and hope you do to. Please respect the land, take nothing but pictures, and leave nothing but footprints.

SPRING: Watch the world awaken for another year from the rocking chair porch sipping coffee in the morning, or on an early morning or afternoon hike. A warm sun on a cool morning followed by a glorious Spring day makes for perfect weather for hiking, spring flower and bird watching, mountain biking, or nature photography.
SUMMER: Summer offers the Southern Appalachian mountains in all their glory. Our 900+ acres can be traversed by mountain bike, or on foot. Ready access to world class trout fishing, whitewater rafting, canoeing, rock climbing on your own, or in the company of a variety of local outfitters. Our two lakes may just tempt you to relax on the dock, or swim in the refreshing, clean water that originates from springs on the property. FALL: Fall is a glorious time at Deerfields. The mountains display amazing colors during the month of October. Crisp nights and beautiful days afford all the activities of summer, with the benefit of the best show nature has to offer. WINTER: Winter at Deerfields is a serene season while nature slumbers. Enjoy the peace, quiet and solitude from your own log cabin while a fire crackles in the fireplace. Days can be mild, or occasionally snow blanketed. Either way you will want to get out and enjoy this quiet season. Special Winter rates on non-holidays also apply.  |
